His musical journey began at the age of 15 making his rounds of the chitlin circuit on week-ends and during the summer up and down the Southeast U.S. with a 16 piece review Band called "The Soul Messengers" playing trumpet and guitar. Through the years he along with his brother have been members of groups that were opening acts for several Nationally known artist such as James Brown, Kool & The Gang and The Delfonics just to name a few.
